Borough Council

• The Borough of Sea Girt is governed by a borough form of Government.
• The governing body consists of a Mayor and six council members who are elected at large.
• The Mayor is elected by voters to a four-year term
• Each council member is elected to serve a three-year term

2026 Council Meeting Dates

All council meetings are open to the public, and all meetings may require that the Mayor and Council of the Borough of Sea Girt recess into executive session. These meetings will be held in hybrid format at 7:00pm, via Zoom platform and in person at the Sea Girt Elementary School. * Meeting location and platform is subject to change and will be advertised prior to meeting date. Official action shall be taken at each of the meetings of the Sea Girt Borough Council.

The 2025 reorganizational meeting of the Borough Council will be held January 8, 2025 at 7:00pm at the Sea Girt Elementary School, Bell Place, Sea Girt.

Meeting dates are noted in the Council Meeting Schedule above or published in one or both of the Borough's two official newspapers, The Coast Star or The Asbury Park Press.
