The Sea Girt Library, located on The Plaza, opened its doors to the community on May 13, 1992. The free public library service was made possible after receiving a generous gift from long-time resident Sara Zock.

All are invited to visit our charming library, located in the former train station. The library collection consists of approximately 12,000 books, audio books, DVDs, and periodicals.  In addition, Digital media is available through OverDrive's Libby app, Kanopy and Hoopla. There is a reading area for patrons to enjoy the materials on site and a large children's room with books for the youngest readers through Young Adult.

Lisa Luke, our librarian, has been in charge of the Sea Girt library since early 2016. Along with library assistants JoAnn Johnson, Patty Peterson and Barbara Buckley, and our group of local volunteers, Lisa has provided the community a hub for information and discovery through innovative programming, and responsive services, while continually meeting the changing needs of our patrons.

The Library now provides curbside checkout and delivery.  Call 732-449-1099 or email the library at seagirtlibrary@gmail.com to place your request.
